Representatives from SV (Socialistic Left), admits that the party still hasn’t decided whether they are going to support Tromsø’s application to host the winter Olympics in 2018 or not. The FRP (The Progress Party) is opposed to the application, and the three other opposition parties haven’t made up their minds yet.
Det Norske Veritas will present a price estimate of the costs involved of hosting the games in Tromsø in 2018, on next Tuesday, but the political parties which will eventually have to make a decision about whether the Government are going to support the games or not, still haven’t made up their minds.
Chairman of SV, Inge Ryan, supports Tromsø’s application, but very few of his colleagues in the party do.
Senterpartiet (The Centre Party) is a staunch supporter of the application and they will approve it.

Ap’s (Labour Party) Gunn Karin Gjul says that the Labour Party has already decided to support the application, but they still need to have a look at the new figures before they can make a final decision.
The response from the opposition parties has been less than enthusiastic, but FRP is so far the only political party to have gone on record and oppose the application.
- We can’t accept that the Government should take on the responsiblities for the economical aspects of hosting these games, FRP representative, Ulf Erik Knudsen says.
The tree other opposition parties Høyre (The Conservatives), Venstre (The liberals) og KrF (The Christian party) are still undecided on the issue.
